Lacawac Tours

Regular scheduled tours of Lacawac have ended until next season. Special tours for schools or groups can be arranged by appointment. Please call 570-689-9494 for information.

Things to do at Lacawac


A stroll through the native plants demonstration garden at Lacawac.

      Lacawac Sanctuary is a nature preserve, ecological field research station and public environmental education facility.  Visitors to the facility are welcome though at certain times some areas may be closed off due to active research.  Also, the interior of the buildings may only be visited ruing scheduled programs or when accompanied by a tour guide.

  •  Historic Connell Park – Adirondack Great Camp - open to tours (see schedule)
  •  Extensive schedule of public environmental focused hands-on learning experiences and walks (see calendar page)
  •  University level research and teaching facilities available for those working in the ecological sciences
  •  School, club and educational field trips invited. Group tours by appointment
  •  Multiple Geo Caching sites!
  •  Interpretive displays and educational exhibits

    Lodge facilities are available for day or overnight meetings, field trips, conferences and special events. Watres Lodge may also be rented for private occasions. See Lodge Rentals
