• Protect and maintaining a National Natural Landmark property - recognized by the U. S. Department of the Interior since 1966.

• Maintaining a National Historic Register Site - a vintage Adirondack style “Great Camp” complex built in 1903 by Scranton coal baron William Connell.

• Preserving Lake Lacawac, Heron Pond, Golden Pond, one pristine mile of Lake Wallenpaupack shoreline, a northern boreal bog, the Wallenpaupack Ledges and Partner Ridge Natural Areas.

• Providing year round public access to the site and offering many educational programs plus five hiking trails for wild life spotting, bird watching, photography, cross country skiing, and more.

• Stewarding an active biological/ecological research and fi eld study station - Lacawac has hosted researchers who together published more than 100 scientifi c papers about the fl ora and fauna here.

*FYI - Lacawac is not government or tax supported.
