SPECIAL EVENTS THE YOUNG GEEZER'S
Saturday, Jul 11, 2009 3:00 PM $5 Members/$8 Non-members
Perennial favorites, the Young Geezers, Tony, Rap and Dan, are three good friends who enjoy the musical synergy of blending acoustic instruments with three-part harmonies. Old enough to qualify as ‘geezers’ but too young to be willing to admit it, the trio hails from Northeast Pennsylvania where they are fortunate enough to be gainfully employed (doing things other than playing music) and so can make music entirely for the pleasure of it. Their repertoire includes a mix of folk, bluegrass, old-timey, gospel, blues, Texas swing, and even the occasional sea chantey. For more about the Geezers visit young-geezers.com. Pre-registration is suggested but walk-ins are welcome. For more information call 570-689-9494 or info@lacawac.org. Children 12 and under free.

SPECIAL EVENTS Folk in the Forest: Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart
Sunday, Jul 26, 2009 3PM $20 Members/ $22.50 Non members
Since her premier album and top rated single “Simple Gearle” appeared in 1998, and was immediately heralded by the music press, Stacey Earle has been touring the country bringing her own unique style of down to earth and home spun mix of folk, blue grass and environmental activism to select small venues such as Lacawac. In the years since, seven additional albums such as “Dancin’ With Them That Brung Me” have cemented her position as an all-American favorite. Her latest CD “The Ride” will be released just before our show date and another joint album with husband Mark Stuart, “Town Square” is already available. Stacey started performing at age 15, and has recorded and toured with her big brother Stevie Earle. While honing her craft she spent many years as a contract writer in Nashville penning hit songs for other top stars of country and western – but we’ll let her tell you about those days. Today she sings her own songs - each written from the heart and each a small bite of emotional reality we all feel drawn too. Mark Stuart is regarded as one of the best lead and solo guitar players in the music industry today. He has long been in demand as a studio musician recording on many hit records for the top stars and he has toured internationally with Freddy Fender and Stevie Earle. Married to Stacey in 2001, they now collaborate in the studio, on tour and in life! His acoustic guitar performance and solos are ones no one who appreciates good “foot stompin” music will want to miss. In addition to working with Stacey, Mark has his own solo album releases including “Left of Nashville” slated to be released shortly and his trademark “Songs From A Corner Stage.” Lacawac is thrilled to be able to present such a special afternoon of music in so special and intimate a setting! Registration required by calling 570-689-9494 or e-mail at info@lacawac.org
