Naturally a good time!

Lacawac Sanctuary is naturally a great place for your child’s next birthday party. The parties are two hours long and are hosted by a naturalist. The first hour includes a nature hike and a nature themed game or craft, and the second hour is yours to enjoy refreshments, cake, and presents. The birthday child will receive a special gift from Lacawac Sanctuary.  Call and schedule your child’s party today!   Birthday Parties are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays and begin at 1:00 pm and end at 3:00 pm. All parties will are hosted at the Coulter Visitor Center and can accommodate 12-15 children.

Programs
The first hour of the party is led by a Lacawac naturalist and will include an interpretive hike and parents’ choice of a craft or game.
Interpretive Hike: Take an interactive hike on one of our many trails. Learn fun facts about what we see in nature
Craft: After the naturalist and the birthday child demonstrate the project, children will create an eco-friendly project to take home.
Game: One or more games will be played to enhance the hiking experience before, during and after the hike.
* Activities will be tailored to seasonal and weather conditions. Indoor options will be offered in the event of unkind weather. All attendees should dress and prepare for any type of forcasted weather, as some outside time may still be possible. Program changes may be made at the discretion of the naturalist.
The second hour of the party is yours to enjoy with friends and family. Children must be supervised at all times during this hour.

Food and Drinks
The adults hosting the party are responsible for providing their own food, beverages, cake and ice cream for the party. Lacawac’s Visitor Center is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and stove/oven.

Supplies
All plates, utensils and cups must be brought by the adults hosting the party.  Please consider using reusable items whenever possible.

Decorations
Decorations in the form of table covers, weighted balloons and themed supplies are encouraged. Decorations may not be taped or stapled to walls or cupboards, and no decorations are to hang from the ceiling. No piñatas please.

Eco-minded Parties
Consider choosing reusable and recyclable materials where possible. A recycling can is on site for small amounts. Please keep helium filled balloons weighted down as releasing latex and helium into the atmosphere can be harmful.  Please keep the environment in mind when planning your party and keep trash to a minimum.
