Environmental Policy at Lacawac

Lacawac is dedicated to be a leading force and vibrant center for environmental education and research, resulting in awareness, appreciation, and preservation of the natural world. To help us accomplish this vision, Lacawac is committed to not just teaching others through educational opportunities, but to lead by example.

  • Being environmentally responsible is not a one-time task, instead it is an ongoing process. Lacawac staff will strive to understand the impact that we have as an organization on the world around us and will work ethically and responsibility to protect the health of our environment now and for future generations.
  • As it is easier and better to prevent waste and pollution than to deal with it directly, Lacawac will work to prevent waste and pollution internally and with our guests.
  • We believe playing an active role in our community and serving our community is important. As a result, it is important for Lacawac to communicate our environmental policies and practices to the greater community and especially our guests.
  • For the protection of our guests, employees, and the environment, we will comply with or exceed all environmental laws and regulations.
