A STEM Mentoring Program
PiER is an academic program focused on providing high-achieving high school students in grades 9 through 11 with rigorous field and laboratory experiences at Lacawac Sanctuary under the mentorship of Lacawac staff and interns. Students who wish to participate in PJAS will design and complete their own research project with the use of Lacawac Field Station and select equipment. By working within the supportive community of like-minded peers, the students will develop the confidence that enhances leadership skills for future success in college studies and career opportunities.
Several special topic programs are scheduled throughout the year. Each school may bring a small group of students.
