As space allows, our secluded historic Adirondack-style Lodge, Ice House, Carriage House and Coulter Visitor Center may be rented by individuals or groups for events such as retreats, weddings, meetings, workshops, reunions, musical programs, private parties, corporate retreats and small-scale conferences.

Lacawac also encourages likeminded organizations to consider using Lacawac for meetings, seminars, conferences or special events.  Lacawac works especially hard to partner with environmental, ecological and educational clubs, organizations, schools and other non-profits to bring meaningful community events and gatherings to our beautiful preserve.

Rustic Barn Weddings at Lacawac


A barn can be the perfect place for a rustic or country wedding. Today weddings in a barn are taking place all over the country and offer the bride and groom a chance to hold their wedding in a very personable and unique location. Just like farm weddings, a barn wedding can be dressed up or dressed down to match the style and decor of your wedding and offer endless charm.

Barns for weddings and their venues can be found all over the country from Maine to California and everywhere in between.

Get away from the modern extravagances.  Go simple and earthy.  Not only will your nature-inspired unique, it will also be more memorable for your guests. 

At Lacawac, the rental fee is affordable.  So, the money you save allows you the opportunity to add little touches that reflect your style. 

All weddings at Lacawac include rental of the Watres Lodge (great room, dining room and fully-equipped kitchen), Carriage House/Barn, and scenic lake front dock.  Rentals include lodging for up to 24 guests.

Group Visits and Tours

Lacawac welcomes group visits.  If your organization would like to visit Lacawac please call ahead and we will arrange a tour of the historic complex. Our trails are always opened for your group to enjoy hiking and exploring - and a naturalist may be available by prior arrangement for Lacawac to conduct a nature walk or themed hike. Our lodge is also available for meetings and events and overnight accomodations are offered. Group meals can be catered in the Watres Lodge Dining Room for your meeting or event. 

Examples of groups who have used, stayed at or visited Lacawac include service clubs (Rotary, Lions, etc.), Elder Hostels, senior groups, senior center trips, outing and hiking clubs, bird watchers, photography groups, art groups, foundation boards, scouts, youth groups, high school ecology clubs, college field course, school field trips, hiking clubs, and various environmental and preservation organization boards and groups.

Bus tours and commercial operators - we can work with you - please call for seperate arrangments.
