Save the Date - LEC Sept 26-27, 2014

Sept 27 - Sept 28, 2013

LEC is a great venue for connecting with regional researchers, discussing research ideas in an informal setting, and building new collaborations.

This year we have Dr. Lynn Christenson from Vassar College as our plenary speaker and she will talk about: "Cascading effects of climate change on forest ecosystems: Biogeochemical links between moose and trees." Dr. Christenson is an ecologist who has worked on diverse projects including: how invasive insect pests influence forest nutrient cycling, how atmospheric nitrogen deposition in the Catskill Mountains can influence forest nutrient dynamics, and how shifts in winter climate regimes will impact multiple levels of forest community structure and function (including trees, shrubs, and moose).

We are offering two presentation formats--individual presentation and joint presentation/discussion. We hope that the joint presentation sessions will promote more discussion. We are encouraging people either from the same lab, or from different labs, to identify a topic area of interest and have a session that raises interesting questions for discussion. Prelimninary agenda.

A completed registration form and payment must be received by September 13, 2013 (dealine extended). The registration form includes details about housing and meals.
