2014 Lacawac Ecology Conference

Some of the 2012 LEC participants in front of Lodge.

Lake Lacawac

Sept 26 - Sept 27, 2014

LEC is a great venue for connecting with regional researchers, discussing research ideas in an informal setting, and building new collaborations.

This year we have Dr. Shannon LaDeau from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies (Millbrook, NY) as our plenary speaker. LaDeau's research investigates how anthropogenic stressors and changing climate influence ecological networks (pathogen-vector-host) that support endemic vector-borne disease and spillover to humans. Presentation title: The ecology of emerging infectious disease and the urbanization of sylvatic disease systems.

Presentation format - 15 minute oral presentations.

A completed registration form and payment must be received by September 12, 2014. The registration form includes details about housing and meals.

Organizing committee: Lesley Knoll, Bruce Hargreaves, Dale Holen, Paul Wilson, and Craig Williamson
