Lacawac Sanctuary Day Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) Program provides volunteers the opportunity to gain confidence and skills through service and leadership training.

The CIT Program Includes 
  • Orientation and Camp Staff Training.
  • Designated staff to supervise and mentor. 
  • Invitation to lead activities that support our campers through play, discovery, and creation. 
  • Priority week and group requests given to returning CIT's
CIT Requirements ​​
  • Enthusiastically participate in all program activities with children.  
  • Actively promote an environment that is safe and fun for all children in the program.  
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of each day's program.  
  • Must be able to be at camp from 8:40AM - 3:45PM every day.
CIT Qualifications
  • Volunteers must be between the ages of 13 and 17 years.  
  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for the outdoors and sharing nature and the environment with children.  
  • Must be able to commit to a full week of a given camp. 
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from camp.

CIT's may use this as volunteer hour credits for academic requirements or extra curricular requirements
