Conducting Individual Research at Lacawac

Lacawac Sanctuary and Field Station has been a hub for ecological research in climate change, forest succession and water quality since 1966.   Research activities are coordinated by the Director of Research and Education.  The DRE invites interested in conducting research at the field station to contact us directly to discuss potential projects.  Research proposals that will be well served by Lacawac's resources, facilities, and biology, and that do not interfere with ongoing programs are solicited and strongly encouraged. Research, teaching, collecting, or other scientific activities of any kind require permission Lacawac.

Researchers can request lab/office space as well as field equipment.  Researchers are encouraged to contact Lacawac in advance to confirm equipment availability and to make any special arrangements for facilities use. All station residents pay lodging and facilities fees. Please note that anyone wishing to stay at the station must contact Lacawac to secure a housing reservation.
